We ordered the La Bodega Experience… which on this evening was an exquisite array of tapas. Olives and home made olive oil potato chips and octopus and incredible salad with pistachio dressing.. and leek and potato soup and pork cheek and wood mushroom risotto which was to die for… and fried milk for dessert!
This incredible restaurant has absolutely outdone themselves. Outside of Spain, I’ve NEVER had better pintxos (tapas) and perfectly paired wines. We got the La bodega experience (chefs menu) with the wine pairings. I had a party of 4 and we were all extremely impressed with absolutely EVERY bite. I can’t recommend this place enough.
Great time at La Bodega. From the coffee wine shop on the first floor to the host, and bartender at the main restaurant, everyone was extremely pleasant and nice. Drinks were fresh and bold, and food full and flavorful. The pork belly was a little fatty and salty, as I'm sure they are intended to be and this is just a reflection of my personal preference, but I cut out the pork and saved the crispy chicharron portion of the backside for my to-go box. Amazing. The Ox-Tail and Mac-Cheese, must order. A+
The croissant was delicious, highly recommend. I didn’t particularly enjoy the tortilla española. It tasted fine, but could have used a bit more salt and was rather runny in the middle which can be tasty but wasn’t a great method in this case since it was made several hours before and was kept at room temperature. Service was great.
Downstairs market is delightful! Up the stairs is a delightful restaurant. LOOVED the toolbox as the host stand! Service was on point. They were training a lot of FOH staff that night, but that made not one bit of difference to the excellent service. The server really knew the menu and wines. We started out with a house Cider (not my fave cider, so sorry), and a glass of Spanish Rose. To accompany that we ordered the Curate Sobrasada - cured spreadable sausage (chorizo) spiced with pimentos. It was topped with honey came with little little breadsticks and almonds. Totally delicious and not too spicy. It went very well with the Pan con Tomat - toasted bread with fresh tomato, garlic and olive oil. So very refreshing. We then ordered Pescadito Frito - fried anchovies, green peppercorn mayo, lemon. OOOOH these anchovies were fresh and deliciously crispy. The Croquetas de Bacalao - salt cod potato fritter, tartar sauce, herb salad. This was also good but the salt cod was not very apparent. Portions are perfect for sharing. My dining partner wished for the burger, so we got that too. It was good, but super rich, and really too big for us - eyes bigger than our stomachs! So we took it home with us. I was not a fan of the potato wedges they served with the burger as they were a bit too greasy. Great evening and we would definitely go back.
Sat at the bar the gentleman was great and took good care of us. We tried La Bodega Experience, I recommend that option since there's no need to decide what to pick just sit and enjoy a 6 course feast. They offer great Cocktails and a reasonable selection of Spanish wines. The food and dessert was delicious.
If you want to experience a good Spanish bar/restaurant this is a must! Service is greats and food/drinks are amazing. Kudos to their staff and don't miss their pinto happy hours! They also have a cute little store downstairs!
